How it works

  1. Set your alarm

    Pick a time and pick what you'll have to prove.

  2. It rings

    Loud, and it keeps going. Tapping does nothing.

  3. Prove it

    Do the task. The alarm stops the moment it's verified.

Nine ways to prove it

Pick the one you can't talk yourself out of at 6am. Every alarm gets its own.

  • Object hunt

    The app names an object. Go find it and photograph it. Your cup, the clock, the fridge.

  • Math

    Solve a short sum on a keypad. For mornings you need something quieter.

  • Maze

    Swipe your way out. Slide the bell through the maze to the exit.

  • Flappy Bell

    Fly the bell through the pipes without hitting one.

  • Aim Trainer

    Pop the bells before they vanish. Tap each one as it appears.

  • Tiles

    Watch which tiles light up, then repeat the pattern back from memory.

  • Shake phone

    Shake it thirty times. There is no way to do that lying still.

  • Match Pairs

    Find every matching pair. Turn over two cards at a time.

  • Type a quote

    Type a quote out, word for word, before the alarm gives in.

What if I genuinely need to turn it off fast?

The ring screen has a snooze button that buys you five minutes without completing anything. Beyond that, Proof Alarm is an app, not a lock on your phone: it never blocks calls, it never stops you leaving the app, and your phone's emergency features work exactly as they always do.

Do my photos get uploaded?

No. Object hunt uses your phone's own image recognition. The photo is checked in memory on the device, never saved to your library, and never sent to a server. There is no server to send it to.

What if it's dark, or I'm travelling?

Every mission except object hunt needs no camera and no particular room, so they work anywhere. You can also narrow the object hunt list to things you actually travel with.

Does it work if my phone is on silent?

Yes. Proof Alarm rings through the system alarm, which sounds on silent the same way your Clock app does. Keep your media volume up as well, since the sound that continues during a challenge follows that slider. The app walks you through both settings when you set your first alarm.

Is there a free version?

Proof Alarm is a subscription. You can preview exactly how the alarm and challenge screens work before you pay, without setting a real alarm.

Which phones does it support?

iPhone on iOS 26 or later, which is what the alarm system it's built on requires.
