My alarm didn't ring

Third-party alarm apps depend on a few iOS settings to ring reliably. Check these, in order of how often they're the actual cause:

!

Force-quitting the app

Swiping ProofAlarm away in the app switcher can interrupt an in-progress mission. Avoid closing the app once an alarm is set — it doesn't need to stay open, but force-quitting it right as an alarm rings is the most common cause of a missed wake-up mission.

!

Notifications

Settings → ProofAlarm → Notifications should be on, with Sounds enabled. This gates the backup alert used if your main alarm is ever interrupted.

!

Background App Refresh

Settings → General → Background App Refresh → ProofAlarm should be on. Keeps the app ready to alert you even when it's not open.

!

Low Power Mode

Can delay alerts when it's on overnight — best left off, or make sure your phone is charging.

!

Ringtone & Alerts volume

Your alarm rings at this volume, not media volume. An accidental volume-down press during the day can silently weaken it overnight — check Settings → Sounds & Haptics.

Auto-Start

Not needed on iPhone — alarms run through iOS itself (AlarmKit), no separate setup required.

All of this is also available directly in the app — Settings → "Alarm Didn't Ring?"

Subscriptions and purchases

Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your device Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or from within the app: Settings → Manage Subscription. If you believe you were charged in error, use Settings → Restore Purchases first, then contact us above if the issue persists — refunds themselves are issued by Apple under the App Store's own refund policy, not by us directly.
