The short version
ProofAlarm has no accounts, no login, and no email collection. Your alarms, mission settings, and any photo taken for a wake-up mission never leave your device. We only collect anonymous usage analytics and crash reports to improve the app, and Apple handles all payment processing directly — we never see your card details.
Alarms and settings. Alarm times, repeat schedules, chosen wake-up missions, and sound preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This never leaves your device and is deleted if you delete the app.
Camera (Object Hunt mission). If you choose the Object Hunt mission, the app uses your camera to verify you've photographed a specific object. The image is analyzed entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework — it is never uploaded, never leaves your device, and is not saved once the check completes.
Streaks and insights. Your wake-up streak and any in-app statistics are calculated and stored locally on your device.
Anonymous usage analytics. We use Firebase Analytics to understand how people use the app — for example, which onboarding screen someone reaches, or which answer they pick to a lifestyle question during setup. This is tied to a random device identifier, never to your name or any personal identifier, and is not linked across other apps or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Crash and diagnostic data. If the app crashes or errors, technical diagnostic information (a stack trace, device model) is sent to Firebase Crashlytics to help us fix bugs. This never includes your alarms, photos, or any personal content.
Subscription status. ProofAlarm's subscription is billed and processed entirely through Apple's App Store — we never see or store your payment card details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, to check whether your Apple ID has an active subscription; RevenueCat assigns your device an anonymous identifier for this purpose and receives your App Store transaction receipt to validate it. RevenueCat never receives your name, email, or payment details from us.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with any other third party for their own marketing purposes.
Everything above describes the ProofAlarm app. This website, proofalarm.dev, is separate and collects less.
Anonymous visit counts. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It records the page you viewed, the site that referred you, your country, and your general device type, browser, and operating system. To count a repeat visit without identifying you, it derives a hash from your request that is discarded and regenerated daily; your IP address is not stored.
Hosting. The site is hosted by Vercel, which, like any web host, processes the requests needed to serve pages to you. Governed by Vercel's own privacy policy.
There is no advertising or marketing tracker anywhere on this site, and nothing here follows you to other websites.
ProofAlarm is not directed at children under 13. Because we do not collect personal identifiers from any user, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Locally stored data (alarms, settings, streaks) stays on your device until you delete it or delete the app. Anonymous analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase per Google's standard retention periods, currently up to 14 months.
If we materially change how ProofAlarm handles your information, we'll update this page and its effective date above.
